How to Earn Money blogging

 How to Earn Money blogging

How I Grew My Blog From 5 Readers to 15,000

When I first started this blog, I never thought it would grow to have an audience of nearly 15,000 readers per month. But with the help of some simple tricks and techniques, I was able to increase my traffic month after month until I finally reached my goal of 15,000 monthly visitors from Google Analytics. In this post, I’ll share the exact steps I took to get here so you can do the same. No more excuses—go start growing your own blog!

1) Consider what you’re good at

Some people are able to earn a lot of money with their blogs because they’re exceptional writers, others because they’re knowledgeable about certain subjects. Consider what you have that others do not. For example, perhaps you know how to repair cars or cook exotic dishes—if you can turn your skills into a book or YouTube channel that teaches other people, there’s money in it.

2) Choose a blog topic that interests you

Picking a niche that you’re genuinely interested in will make it easier for you to create content. Sure, other people are interested in that topic too—but they aren’t your target audience. By focusing on one thing and becoming an expert in it, you can become one of those voices people look to when they have questions.

3) Write in your own style

When writing your first few posts, don’t worry about trying to mimic others. Instead, write in your own voice. What do you want to say? How would you say it? Take those guiding principles and allow them to inform your writing. What kind of style fits with what you want your business to be? Do you want a formal tone with lots of numbers and statistics for an industry that uses those as part of their day-to-day operations?

4) Maintain an active schedule

Getting your content schedule on track is one of the most important steps in growing a successful website. Whether you’re publishing more often or less often, your readers expect that if they come back tomorrow morning (or next week or next month), there will be something new for them to read. This applies whether you’re writing a post three times per week or one time per month.

5) Build relationships with readers

Like it or not, blogging is a relationship business. The more your readers get to know you and your style of writing—and like what they see—the more likely they are to keep coming back for more. They’ll also recommend you (either explicitly or implicitly) via social media sites and word-of-mouth.

3 Ways to Make Money Online, Offline and at Home

3 Ways to Make Money Online, Offline and at Home

Make money with a side gig and learn how long it will take to see the extra income, whether it’s freelancing online, driving passengers or selling your stuff.

Make money online through websites such as Upwork, Fiverr and Freelancer.com. These sites offer opportunities to do a variety of freelance jobs, such as writing, programming, design, marketing, data entry and being a virtual assistant. Fluent in a second language? Check sites such as Gengo or One Hour Translation, or drum up business through a site of your own. No matter what kind of freelancing you do, keep track of the going rate for the kind of work you provide so you know if you’re charging too much or too little. Learn how to get started on Upwork.

Total time: It can take a while to get your first gig. Setup: 24 hours. How easy to start: Easy, if you have the expertise. Age threshold: 13+ but varies by site. Payment speed: Varies by site.

2. Test websites and apps

Another way to make money from home is on sites like UserTesting.com. You get paid for your thoughts on how well — or not so well — certain websites and apps worked. You’ll have to pass a short test to be accepted, then you’ll be paid $10 for each 20-minute test, which involves a recording and answering four follow-up written questions. Or you could earn up to $120 to participate in a video conversation with a customer after your test.

Total time: Approval time can vary. Setup: Less than an hour. How easy to start: Easy, if you have the tech gear and complete a sample test. Age threshold: 18+. Payment speed: Seven days.

Even in the age of automation, some jobs still require a human touch. Companies often outsource those jobs via services like Amazon’s Mechanical Turk. As a “worker,” the tasks you’ll be assigned can be tedious — tagging images, transcribing videos, classifying receipts — and can take anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours.
